  • Deep tissue massage targets deep muscles and connective tissue. Chronic tension, injury, and stress can cause these tissues to bind or become hypertensive. Left untreated, these tight areas put stress on the musculoskeletal system and reduce healthy blood flow to the affected area. This treatment releases these binds, aligning deep muscle fibers to change posture and create freedom of movement, reducing chronic pain and stiffness.

  • Sports massage uses a combination of circulatory and deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and passive and active stretches to help enhance recovery time and promote a more flexible body. For anyone participating in regular physical activity, Sports massage may be a great addition to your normal regimen. The intensity and depth of the massage will depend on your desired outcome and athletic performance schedule. Sports massage improves endurance and stamina, reduces post-workout recovery time, is great for injury prevention, relieves muscle tension, spasms, and chronic pain, releases scar tissue and lengthens muscles, shortens recovery time with injuries, and promotes muscle and joint flexibility.

The benefits can include improved relaxation, sleep, and immune function as well as relieving anxiety, pain, fatigue and nausea. • An ancient Chinese method of clearing local congestion/stagnation/toxicity within the body. Cupping is a very effective form of physical and emotional release. The cups can impact the body’s processes deeply into the tissues, allowing the release of toxins, activating the lymphatic system, removing stagnation, and encouraging the flow of new blood and body fluids, as well as qi. Cupping is useful, safe, and can be added to any modality of treatment, for many indications, to enhance the results. Because of its unique use of negative pressure, cupping can often have an incredible impact in the healing process.

  • Reiki has roots in Japanese healing arts and roughly translates to “divine energy.” The most widely spread Reiki practice in the West comes from Mako Usui, also known as Usui Sensei, who discovered it during a prolonged fast and meditation in 1922. At first he noticed he could heal his wounds by the laying on of his hands. He began offering Reiki healing and practitioner classes immediately and over time developed the full range of practices that encompass Reiki today.

A practitioner of Reiki is a channel for the omnipotent divine energy which will serve a client's best and highest interest with or without specific direction from the practitioner. Clients who receive Reiki healing report feelings of deep relaxation and comfort. Reiki can be incorporated into a massage session or administered as a full session on its own while the client remains clothed. Reiki can also be applied with hands on or off of the body, making it an excellent option for those looking for a gentle introduction to bodywork. Due to its divine nature, Reiki can also be applied over any distance for those looking for a remote experience.

  • Vibrational Sound Therapy can be practiced with a variety of tools that produce a pure tone such as gongs, singing bowls, drums and tuning forks. These tones approach the body as sound waves and as these waves travel through the body, they unify the rate at which its particles vibrate. This unification helps the body's cells to work together more cohesively and provides feedback to the nervous system about where things may not be functioning optimally and need some adjustments. This process ultimately frees up more of your body's energy for other things, such as healing.

Clients who receive sound therapy often report feelings of deep relaxation and rejuvenation. They may leave the session feeling lighter or a sense of greater personal freedom.

Sound therapy instruments can be held over the body and some can be placed on the body to target a specific muscle, trigger point or tissue pathway. Both methods can also be woven together throughout a session. This modality can be incorporated with hands-on massage, and it can be a terrific option for clients who prefer not to be touched and still would like to enjoy the benefits of bodywork.
